Wal-Mart is a nationally known “big box” bargain store. But last November 26, the store’s Burell Township, Pennsylvania parking lot briefly became a hunting ground for a deer.
Archangelo Bianco, Jr., 40, came to the shopping plaza to do some banking, when he saw the 10 point buck running through the Resort Plaza Wal-Mart’s parking lot. He allegedly fired several rounds at the deer, killing and bagging it on the other side of Old William Penn Highway. Bianco reportedly took the deer to a meat processor for butchering. A Pennsylvania Game Commission investigator entered a store surveillance video and a deer seized from the processor as evidence.
District Judge Jennifer Rega has scheduled a preliminary hearing on May 1. Among the charges Bianco could face are a misdemeanor count of reckless endangerment, and unlawful killing or taking of big game. Bianco’s attorney, Jason N. Huska, has declined comment.
